Snap a document, skip the typing
Details from plans and forms were typed in by hand. We built an app that reads the document and fills the record for you.
The problem
Details off plans, forms, and paperwork were read and re-typed into the system by hand, one field at a time.
The existing process
Someone put the paper next to the keyboard and typed each number and name in, then double-checked for typos.
Why it mattered
It was slow, dull work, and a mistyped number could carry a costly error all the way downstream.
What we did
We built an app that reads the document (photo or file), pulls out the details, and drops them into a clean record for a quick human check instead of full retyping.
The result
Intake goes from typing every field to checking a filled-in record, so it's faster and there are fewer typos.
What happened next
They asked to feed the clean records straight into the next system so nothing gets re-typed later either.
