A Monday report that builds itself
A supervisor spent every Monday morning rebuilding the same report by hand. Now it's ready before he walks in.
The problem
Every Monday, the weekly production numbers were put together by hand: exported, pasted, and reformatted into the same spreadsheet for the owner's meeting.
The existing process
A supervisor pulled numbers from the machine logs and the main system, pasted them in, fixed the layout, and emailed a PDF. Hours gone before the week even started.
Why it mattered
That was skilled time spent on copy-paste. And because the report was only made weekly, a Tuesday problem stayed hidden until the next Monday.
What we did
We built a dashboard that reads the same sources on its own and keeps the numbers current. The weekly view is set up the way the owner already expected.
The result
The Monday report is ready without anyone building it. And the same numbers are live any day of the week, not just once a week.
What happened next
Seeing the numbers daily led to a sharper question, which machines lost the most time, and that became the next thing to track.
